worship training: knowing God deeply affects all aspects of worship

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

This is essential training for current worship leaders and teams, as well as those who are interested in serving God in this way. Even if you’re not on a worship team or planning on joining one, this is a great way to learn more about what a heart that worships God looks like.

Session #1: The Essence of Worship
Date: Saturday October 7th, 2006
Time: 4:30-5:30 pm; 5:30-6:30pm jam session & dinner (bring money)
Location: Lighthouse
Speaker: Mark Austin

Dress Code

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

Hi Lighthousers,

Thanks drama team for that skit today regarding dress code at Lighthouse. Have a read through the list below (which is taken from the Westwood student-parent handbook, with some modifications). If everyone could familiarize themselves with the dress code and adhere to it, that would be greatly appreciated.

1. Shorts, skorts or skits shorter than mid-thigh or shorter than the tips of the fingertips, whichever is shorter.
2. Spandex shorts or pants.
3. Shorts that are distracting, including wind shorts, jogging shorts, bicycling shorts/pants or other tight fitting shorts.
4. Extremely short shirts, halter tops, tank tops or other shirts with deep-cut openings.
5. Dresses or shirts that only partially cover the shoulders, i.e. spaghetti straps. A good guideline is the straps have to be 3 finger widths wide.
6. Shirts that do not cover the midriff.
7. Any clothing which may reveal undergarment.
8. Skirts that detract from the worship environment.
9. Tight fitting clothing.

Thanks for your understanding and co-operation. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at josh@acclighthouse.org.

JAM SESSION.

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

So as the new school/lighthouse year has begun and seniors have become freshman and are off, we are left with a crazy-huge deficit of lead-worshippers.

Therefore, we are starting up JAM SESSIONS again. One hour after sunday lighthouse service to learn from current guitar, drum, bass players and just play around. Right now the current instrument players have been pretty bogged down because of the lack of people, but you can help out. It’s a great way to pick up a new instrument and serve God.

We need people to learn all the instruments, from singing to guitar to drums to piano players to bass (the best instrument, seriously) and everything else. If you have an interest in doing this or just a passion to serve, this is for you! We’re starting this sunday, September 17th, right after lighthouse ends. Hope to see y’all there.
