A reminder to keep bringing in Hurricane Harvey donations. Let’s be faithful in offering up the resources God has lent to us—let’s be strong in battling compassion fatigue.
WHO: Lighthouse youth and parents to donate supplies and money to help the Hurricane Harvey evacuees currently sheltering in Austin.
WHAT: (Bring from home)
– Travel-sized shampoo
– Body soap
– Tissue packages/boxes
– MONEY (Any size donations welcome and checks can be written to “Austin Chinese Church”)
***Note that we’re encouraging to partner with your parents in donating money especially. Do extra chores, have honest conversations with them about how you can help your household donate money—so we can purchase the supplies that aren’t as easy to find at home.
Tell your parents that the money will go directly to buy things like:
– Baby care supplies
– Feminine Products
WHERE: Drop off will be at a table in the Carey kitchen.
WHEN: Sunday 9/3 to Sunday 9/17 (both Fridays and Sundays)
WHY: The desire to help the cities of the Texas coast and Houston isn’t a Texan spirit. And it isn’t the American spirit or the human spirit, it’s the Holy Spirit moving believer to love their neighbors. This doesn’t happen apart from Christ. The response from the Church and our church is the Holy Spirit at work in the hearts of people doing the work of God.
Thank you Lighthouse! Let’s keep shining God’s grace.
