UPDATE 03/14/2020:

Dear ACC Family,

As you know, COVID-19 cases have arrived in Austin. Austin Public Health is requesting that events with more than 250 people are to be canceled or postponed. To protect ourselves and to help to reduce the transmission of the virus, we decided to start online streaming for all three worship services and temporarily suspend onsite services beginning tomorrow March 15, 2020. Our worship services will resume as soon as conditions improve and gathering is no longer a risk.

During this period, pastors and worship service coworkers will continue to serve to provide the online streaming services. Links to the streaming service will be provided on the ACC website and the three congregational websites. Also during this period, we will not have Friday or Sunday youth and children programs. The pastors of the English, Cantonese and Mandarin congregations will share more specifically what the impact will be on specific ministries.

In preparation for the potential of a suspension of our worship services, our youth ministry team developed a comprehensive plan for continuing to engage with Lighthouse students for as long as we are not meeting in person. Lighthouse counselors will be reaching out to your child and their small group with an emphasis on video chatting. We will also be sharing counselor devotions, articles, videos, and Lighthouse generated teaching content that will be shared through Instagram, the Lighthouse website, email, and YouTube. We pray and hope that students and parents will find these efforts to be helpful.

In these difficult times, let us recall what Paul wrote in Philippians 4:6-7 “ Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Let’s pray for those who’ve become infected, medical personnel who are putting their own lives at risk, government and public health officials around the world, and for the Holy Spirit to help us possess “the peace of God” so we may be a good witness for Him.

In Him,

Minister Dominic on behalf of the Elder Board
